Active Citizen Series: Deliberative Dialogue - Youth and Opportunity: What Should We Do for Future Generations to Thrive?
About
This event will be virtual. Individuals who register will be provided a link following their sign-up.
Many young people think the United States is on the wrong track and fear that decisions by today’s leaders are robbing them, and those who come after them, of a better future. Distrust in political parties combined with concerns about racial inequality and the lack of fundamental fairness in our society are inspiring protests and fueling grassroots efforts to challenge the status quo.
A Deliberative Dialogue is a virtual opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and community members to gather and exchange diverse views and experiences to seek a shared understanding of a challenge facing our society and to search for common ground for action.
The Active Citizen Series is designed to cultivate the next generation of informed leaders who will help strengthen communities and shape our democracy. This series allows students to gain a deeper understanding of how government works and to develop the necessary skills to engage in civil discourse across political divides.
