About
Join us for our January Staff MLK build! The build shift will go from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. No building/construction experience is necessary. Just come ready to make a difference and have some fun! Please wear close-toed shoes and bring a mask.
This opportunity is in collaboration with the Staff Advisory Council.
Every year, our chapter sponsors the construction of a house in Burlington through fundraising, and students are encouraged to volunteer at the build site to get a hands-on experience in community building. Build shifts are not only educational, but also fun! Volunteers learn the value of teamwork, leadership, and hard work while also getting to learn new skills in home construction. Some examples of build-site tasks include putting up walls, painting, roofing, and more!
The Kernodle Center will contact all volunteers in advance of the this opportunity with additional details.
